Black Teeth?

My husband has gray and black teeth. The stains are from smoking. They are in between his teeth and on his gums. Am I wrong to find this unattractive, he thinks its not that bad. I asked him to get veneers because they only stay white for about a week after the dentist cleans them. I just find it really gross.

He gets his teeth cleaned about every 4 months, and I have insisted he stop smoking and he has on and off. The dentist says the stains are from smoking. My husband says it my problem that I find his teeth gross. What do you think?

Black Teeth?
how heavy a smoker he is, if he brushes his teeth twice daily %26amp; properly, the stains will not form.
Reply:It's not normal for your husband's teeth or for anyone to be black.

You should encourage him to stop smoking and go to the dentist.
Reply:Eww...thats really disgusting. i wonder what its like kissing him...gross....

But i guess he's your husband. you have to tell him the truth and ask him to please stop before his teeth get any worse. Theres lots of over the counter whitening tools-very cheap.
Reply:Put black stuff on your teeth and ask him how he likes it.
Reply:Ew that's gross. On cases like this I'd take away his wallet or something lol

send him to a gum specialist %26amp; dentist

Whoa maybe a cancer doctor too.
Reply:Get him some special smoker's (stain removing) toothpaste that removes those stains. No amount of nagging will make a person quit smoking until they decide they want to quit. I wouldn't even mention the "special toothpaste" to him. Just leave it set in the bathroom where your regular toothpaste usually is.
Reply:Not to get into your business or anything, but there are a lot more health risks than black teeth expected from smoking. This doesn't mean that he has to go "cold turkey." There are many treatment options, such as gum and nicotene patches. Please have him stop!
Reply:stopping smoking and getting cleanings is the only thing he can go really. i really don't think it's your problem that you think his teeth are gross. it will be his problem as well when your marriage starts to sour because he doesn't care about your feelings or his hygiene for that matter.
Reply:I think that black teeth are not only gross, but terribly unhealthy and unhygienic as well. Not only is he causing ugly staining on his teeth, but his bone supports are just disintegrating from t he smoke. In a few years he will end up with dentures. I work in a dental office and we go to the local hospital monthly. We have seen patients who have had entire sinus areas cut out from cancer due to smoking and another patient had his nose and surrounding area removed. These were EXTREME cases, but smoking cases nontheless. Veneers are not the answer. QUITTING SMOKING IS. Try to convince him somehow. Remember second hand smoke kills. Talk to him. Good luck
