Dogs teeth?

I checked with the Vet and to get my dogs teeth cleaned its almost impossible to afford. Any one have any ideas I can do at home to maybe clean them or freshen their breath? Don't know what else to do. I have a toy poodle and have tried brushing his teeth, but that dosen't really help. Open to any suggestions. Thank you.

Dogs teeth?
just keep trying to brush them yourself. the dog will get used to it and it will be easier as time goes by. good luck
Reply:You can carry on cleaning her teeth as this help, but in addition you could try fresh breath tablets and fresh breath chews.
Reply:It's true-dogs do get periodontal disease and might benefit from dental care, but most of their problems, like ours, are diet driven. A good dogfood and minimal table scraps will help your pet. As for the breath, it's called 'dog breath' for a reason. It does not resolve easily by any means.
