Does eating carrots and other crunchy veggies help keep your teeth clean?

i know for cats/dogs the crunchy foods help keep their teeth clean. i was wondering if eating something like a carrot or some other low sugar crunchy veggie snack would work the same way(not as a substitution for brushing and flossing of course!), what do you think?

Does eating carrots and other crunchy veggies help keep your teeth clean?
Yes. It's a more natural, coarse diet that helps keep things clean. People that only chew on one side build up tartar on the chewing surfaces of the teeth they don't use (we think of that as weird in dentistry). Eat lots of coarse, scrapy veggies!!
Reply:Yes, of course.
Reply:Of course - Anything that keeps saliva in the mouth..even sugarless gum is good.

Reply:it helps some but carrots make you see better..... apples and pears make your teeth cleaner
Reply:Yes apples are the best though. Eating an apple is better thatn brushing your teeth! even ask a dentist.
