What can i do to make my cats teeth smell better?

without a trip to the vets for teeth cleaning. and he can't have any kind of special food for better smelling teeth cuz he is on special food and if he eats anything else he'll get sick. so what do i do. i don't want to have to buy a toothbrush and brush his teeth for he would probably go insane and i would get bitten up. so what do i do. i want his teeth to smell better. they stink like trash, well it's getting pretty close anyways, lol. i've tried special treats that were supposed to help his breath smell better but did nothing so what now?

There's a product out there especially to make kittie's breath smell fresh and clean. Catmints are sold at most petstores like Petsmart and Petco. Mix the small chewable mints into your kittie's dinner and he'll eat it right up and have fresh breath in no time! Hope this helps!
Reply:AHAHAHAHA
Reply:Other than diet and a tooth brsh not much you can do at home. Id try the cat toothbrush thing at least a short go and see if he minds
Reply:Cats dont smell with their teeth. They use their nose.

Brushing your teeth will not improve your boyfriends b.o.
Reply:what i always do for my dog wich will work for cats too..... i think but you can try this i take mint tic tacs and smash them on a plate till they turn in to crums and then have him eat it cause he eats every thing tthats food or that he thinks smells good but if that dosent work u can mix it w/ his water or food good luck and i hope your cats breath smells beter
Reply:He may have rotting teeth. Those smell really bad so you may want to mention that to your vet. It can be very painful for the animal. Bad breath is common for all animals but cats don't use mints or use crest toothpaste. If its not an infection or anything dangerous then I would actually recomend brushing his teeth. Yes, there is toothpast for cats out there. But if its as bad as you say then I think its worth getting checked out and you vet will have some good suggestions to.
Reply:Hi there...generally, when a cat exhibits bad breath it could be a result of either periodontal, kidney, respiratory or liver disease to diabetes, skin disease (involving tissue around the lips) or oral trauma, such as electric cord injury. However, by far, the most common problem associated with bad breath is periodontal disease. All which will require a veterinarian's evaluation to treat respectively.
