Why do Dentists anymore think you automatically need to have a deep cleaning .?

It seems to me that every time you go to the dentist anymore just to get your teeth cleaned, they make this big production out of you needing a deep cleaning, and then you need to go back again to have it finished, and my gums never bleed unless the dentist does all this deep cleaning stuff. I think it starts problems. I never have any problems until they do that. Are there any dentists out there any more that just clean your teeth the way they use too?

I think they is no such dentist out there anymore. They always act clever, they would always do every thing different from what u want them to do.





I think it is better not to go unless really necessary. I once go for a cleaning, and my teeth ache for at least 2 mth, cannot eat hot and cold stuff. Its such a torture man.

Reply:Because insurance will cover most of the cost, which is why insurance costs have skyrocketed. When I was little I went to the dentist every 6 months for the examination/cleaning. 99% of all work was done then and there by the actual dentist. No hygenist, no x-ray tech, etc. His receptionist was also his assistant. Now I go in and there is a receptionist, a records keeper, a biling clerk, a hygenist and her assistant, an x-ray tech, an assistant and then the dentist (all separate people). The actual teeth cleaning has become a two day affair and any dental work requires seperate appointments to be made.
Reply:Do you floss? If you don't floss you get a build up of minuate food particles that stay under the gumline and start to create cavities (holes) in your teeth. This is where the beginnings of teeth problems start....prevention is better than a cure....and the amount of money it costs to fix the problems.
