Cleaning my kittens teeth at home?! HELP!?

How do I keep my kittens mouth mostly clean and healthy. How should I brush them for how long? Is their a subsitute for a kittie brush and kittie tooth paste? What is it? What are your sources?

Hi there...pet stores carry a specially formulated toothpaste made for cats and two different types of brushes to use. One is either like a thimble to place on your thumb or a small toothbrush. Generally, cats teeth should be brushed daily a minute to two minutes depending on how much kitty is willing to tolerate. Brushing their teeth can harm them, unless you have a vet do it.

Reply:It is not necessary to clean your kittens teeth unless they have a major problem with them. Dentibits are a type of crunchy treats which keep your kittens teeth clean. Go get advice from a vet.

But they make plenty of food %26amp; treats that help clean tartar, and keep your kitten%26#039;s teeth healthy.
Reply:Most vets sell teeny pet toothbrushes %26amp; toothpaste and it lasts a long time. It saves on future dental bills for your pet. It only requires a couple minutes, once a day. Cats don%26#039;t like it much as they are pernickity but so be it. Show them you%26#039;re boss and BTW wearing gloves might help.

Reply:U need a little knited cat nip toy made of wool that the cast can chew. My cat chews everything wool around my place %26amp; all u hear is squeak squeak squeak as she%26#039;s chewing things, ( like squeaky clean)
Reply:Greenies! My kittens%26#039; teeth are SO clean that their vet is amazed. A few pieces (not too many) of Greenies several times a day as a snack keeps their teeth sparkling white. I am not exaggerating. Their vet is a Holistic vet and she says they are not bad for them. Meanwhile I feed my kitties the highest quality cat foods - ones without any corn fillers, like Nutro, Paul Newmans, Wellness and Felidae. I never have to torture them or myself with this brushing business, and I hope I never do.
Reply:I have done tons of research and I brush my cats teeth - they have special toothbrushes and toothpaste but what I find to be the easier alternative are little wipes - they%26#039;re like a version of a small baby wipe and you use your finger... surprisingly I find this easier - you can find it at the pet store they%26#039;re called toothwipes. Don%26#039;t listen to the rest of the people.. I do this with my kitten.
