Does a dogs teeth need cleaning and how?
Yep! You can brush their teeth or give them bones to chew on. I give my dog Greenies and they work wonders.
Reply:Yes they are just like us they get cavities to your vet can clean the teath
Reply:Yes, and if you haven%26#039;t been brushing them you will probably need to take it to the vet for cleaning. Then, buy dog toothpaste and brush them several times a week.
Reply:I have done some research on the topic quite a while ago, and I was told to clean your dog%26#039;s teeth every 6 months. This can be done by a vet under anesthesia if your dog simply won%26#039;t allow it. Also, they do have doggie toothbrushes and toothpaste at places like Walmart and Target. This has been very ineffective for me, because my dog just won%26#039;t comply. Dental health in dogs is very important, yet it seems like one of the more miniscule tasks that owners have to deal with. Having rotten or broken teeth in older age can lead to kidney disease, etc. They also sell bones and various toys designed to maintain a clean mouth and prevent buildup of tarter. Good luck!
Reply:Wow, I didn%26#039;t know this, but apparently this video is %26quot;How To Brush Your Dog%26#039;s Teeth.%26quot;
Reply:All dogs should go to the vet yearly for a teeth cleaning just like we do. The vet uses a scaler to remove all the plaque which can cause gum disease and teeth to fall out prematurely. Other than that, give dogs a rope chew so that they can exercise their teeth and gums and floss out all the food particles. Oh, and very important, lay off the soft food because it makes dog%26#039;s teeth rot before time.
Reply:Your Teeth need cleaned right? Well so do your Dogs. There are a few options such as dental bones and brushing. You can buy flavored tooth paste (chicken, beef, ect) at your local pet store. Buy a generic tooth brush at the dollar store and put the tooth paste on it and brush your dogs teeth. You should do it 3 + times a week. Your dog will probably be nervous at first but eventually will get used to it and probably like it. Start out slow by messing with its mouth and just let it get used to you looking at its teeth and opening its mouth. After its acustomed to that begin brushing them. Little by little does the trick. Get into a routine so your dog knows when it needs it done. I do my dogs teeth when I brush mine in the morning. They both sit there and grin while I brush mine ( pull their lips back and show their teeth) because they want their teeth brushed too. Most of the time they chew on the tooth brush because the tooth paste tastes good. (a reason to buy cheep ones because you%26#039;ll go through them fast) I also use dental treets to keep my dogs teeth shiny also. There are so many different kinds, shapes and sizes. Select one your dog enjoys and fits it%26#039;s size. Something as simple as Hard food can keep your dog%26#039;s teeth healthier too. Chewing is the best way to break off tartar. I would recommend that if your dog is older and has tarter build up, that you take it in for a dental cleaning at the vets. Then you can start whith healthier teeth and keep them cleaner longer. Eventually almost all dogs will need to go to the denist and have them cleaned. By takeing care of them now, you can help prevent gum problems and exspensive bills.
Reply:Bones - Raw Meaty Bones!! The meat and sinew acts like floss and the edible bones scrape the teeth clean. You don%26#039;t need to use a toothbrush, buy fake tooth treats or arrange six monthly teeth cleaning at the vet - just give your dog a bone! A natural, raw, meaty bone.

My raw fed dog has the cleanest, whitest teeth I have ever seen - even the vet comments on them. My 15 year old cat has a mouth full of clean teeth too!

If your dogs teeth are really bad - 80% of commercial fed dogs over the age of three have peridontal disease - they MAY need to be scraped/cleaned by your vet. After that keep them clean by feeding RMB every day.

**peridontal disease has proven links to other health problems (in humans and pets) so it is well worth making sure it can never start.

I hope the link helps :)
Reply:Yes Brush Them Or Get The Teeth Bones For Them If You Give Like Milk Bones Over A Period Of Time It Can Hurt Their Teeth Worse. They hve Brushes for Them That Fit On The End of Your Finger.
Reply:yeah basicly they do. u can brush them but dont brush to hard u may cause sores or bleeding of the gums. the best way is to give the dog treats that cleans there teeth u can find them at any grociery or local pet store
Reply:Yes, a dog%26#039;s teeth need to be cleaned. Plaque can lead to gingivitis, tooth decay, and gum disease (just like humans). Also, once the teeth/gums get infected, it can eventually cause overall health problems for your dog. If you aren%26#039;t able to brush your dog%26#039;s teeth (which is certainly the most cost effective measure), you can contact your vet for alternatives. I took my dog to the vet earlier today for this same reason. She had to be put under anesthesia so they could clean her teeth. If you don%26#039;t want the expense of such a procedure, your vet can give you a water additive called Aqua Dent which is supposed to keep your dog%26#039;s teeth healthy. (I just got some today so I can%26#039;t tell you yet how effective it is).
