What is the benefit of leaving a tap running when cleaning your teeth?

WAKE UP, it%26#039;s totally unneccessary

What is the benefit of leaving a tap running when cleaning your teeth?
Agreed! It%26#039;s lazy.
Reply:The benefit is to waste precious water.
Reply:none
Reply:There is none, other than being lazy of course.
Reply:I don%26#039;t use tap water at all when I brush my teeth. I rinse with listerine, then soak my toothbrush in hydrogen peroxide. Tap water in most cases is treated sewage. I really don%26#039;t like the idea of bathing in it, but we don%26#039;t have much choice.
Reply:That is one of my pet hates, there is no need to do it whatsover. Anyone who answers saying its ok, I hope they have to go to stand pipes and freeze their **** off in the Winter if there is not enough water.
Reply:a bigger water bill maybe can,t see any reason why anybody would want to them selves
Reply:You are so right, there is no benefit in this at all. I don%26#039;t leave the tap on when I clean my teeth, but I know people that do. Anyway, at least we clean our teeth!
Reply:To show disrespect to everyone in the world where water is in short supply and people are dying of dehydration.

There is no reason whatesoever to leave a tap running when cleaning your teeth.
Reply:but that%26#039;s my one Obsessive Compulsive moment! Don%26#039;t take it away, please!

[shake, sob...]
Reply:absolutely i have never done that cos my family taught me the value of water but i know lots of people that don%26#039;t even think about it
Reply:None. It just wastes water.
Reply:ahh i do this, and never actually thought about it or even noticed that i do it. But now i know i will stop for sure.......SORRY
Reply:Hummmmmmmm Good question none I suppose.

I run hot water so I guess if I leave it on - it%26#039;s as hot as it%26#039;s gonna get! If someone was to leave the cold water running? I couldn%26#039;t tell ya.

The benefit? Water Company makes more money.
Reply:The benefit is that you dont have to reach back and forth to the faucet. I am not saying it is right, just stating the benefit.
Reply:Wow - what do Red and White say about all this?
Reply:Its cleans your sink at the same time so you don%26#039;t need to do it later!!!
Reply:Right. It is completely unneccessary.
Reply:there is no benefit, there is only a wastage. water goes by and the country you are living will have a lack of water in long term. think about it and please do not leave the tap open. it doesn%26#039;t matter if you turn it off with dirty hands, coz you can clean it, but you can%26#039;t clean off drought, can you?
Reply:It argues in favour of compulsory water meters which I think is essential. People should pay for what they use, then they won%26#039;t waste so much.
Reply:Good question. Just proves that humans are weird and lazy.
Reply:saves wear and tear on the washer
Reply:There is no benefit.
Reply:well as you are cleaning your teeth, you are happily slobbering all over the sink therefore, keeping the tap running stops a build up of spattering and slobber which can look unsightly for those few minutes and would give you the boke just looking at it.
Reply:I don%26#039;t do it anymore, but it does make the spit go down the drain easier.
Reply:It pays the wages at the water company, the workers pay taxes, less tax for me. Keep it up.
Reply:There isn%26#039;t one.
Reply:The advantage is that the stale water sitting in the old tape would be cleared and you are using water from the pipeline that hasn%26#039;t sat in a furred up tap - however benefit so small to you and so bad for the environment and water supplies so switch it off!
Reply:none unless you are arrogant and don%26#039;t care about your kids futures!i do care though and always turn the tap off.
