Getting my teeth cleaned tomorrow...?

I go to the dentist once or twice a year, but I think it%26#039;s been like 8 months since I got a cleaning. I can%26#039;t remember if it hurts or not? My teeth are sensitive because I was bulimic for a long time (not any more though) I%26#039;m going tomorrow to get them cleaned, but does it hurt?

Getting my teeth cleaned tomorrow...?
no no no

1 usually x-rays

2 plaque pick your teeth

3 flavored polish - removes stains

4 floride - seals a invisible protective laver -shield agaings cavities also flavored

5 Inital check-up real dentist not the hygenist - comes back with x-rays and looks for abcesses and cavitys/ any other concerns

This is painless and the polish/floride foam tastes really nice - hope you have a great day ! enjoy it
Reply:Not really
Reply:It doesn%26#039;t hurt. They just scrape your teeth to get any film off of them and depending on your tech they will floss. Then they take a brush with floride on and rub it on your teeth. Nothing to hurt you. Good Luck!
Reply:It doesn%26#039;t hurt, but it also depends on who is doing the cleaning. I%26#039;ve been to a few hygenists that were really rough and made me bleed more than I should have. The one I have now I absolutely love and she doesn%26#039;t hurt me a bit. If it starts to hurt let them know and they should ease up on you. No worries! ♥
Reply:They might push a little but it doesn%26#039;t hurt and it%26#039;s always good to tell them if you are nervous
Reply:Not really, it feels like someone is spraying water on your teeth.
Reply:it should not hurt and if it does tell the doctor
Reply:You should not hurt per say, but it may be uncomfortable due to your sensitivity. When you binge and then purge (as you say you used to be bullemic) the acid from the vomit can erode the enamel on your teeth which leads to the sensitivity. You may be sensitive to the cold water, but let the hygienist know and she should try to make you as comfortable as possible. Also ask spec. for a f2 treatment, it can help make sensitive teeth more comfortable. Good luck.
Reply:It doesn%26#039;t hurt. The only thing is that you will get tired of saying %26quot;Ahhhh%26quot;. Good Luck!
Reply:Not generally, but it you have sensitive teeth I would suggest taking some Tylenol before your cleaning. Also, remind the dentist or dental tech that you have sensitive teeth. They can take measures to help insure your comfort.

There is a new fluoride tablet you can take to strengthen you teeth. Ask your dentist about it.
Reply:a little but only for a few seconds and its not pain where you are going to cry. I have sensitive teeth and gums and in the end I usually have little to no pain but they do bleed a lot.
Reply:I can answer that for you from so many expriences. There%26#039;s nothing for you to worry about I used to work in a dental office so I can tell you it%26#039;s just what it say%26#039;s your just getting a clean so don%26#039;t panic. All they actually do is clean your teeth and check for cavities nothing for you to freak about although you might want to tell your dentist that your a little nervious being honest is key. Just relax it%26#039;ll be over before you know it trust me I gave them and I recieved them nothing to worry about. it%26#039;s as if your cleaning your teeth only we do a little more and have a better chance of not missing anything. relax it%26#039;ll be okay. After it%26#039;s done email me at Learyfreena@Yahoo.com and tell me how it went.

Always,

Stephanie
