any advice??

Not a good job cleaning my teeth?
yes, %26quot;see a dentist%26quot; is always a good default answer on here... like you couldn%26#039;t have guessed that.

To be honest, Emily, my guess is that maybe you%26#039;re a perfectionist - I have a number of patients just like you, and believe me, we REALLY enjoy you so much more than the slackers who never floss or who come in having just eaten a package of Oreos. (gross!)

some stains will come off w/ a professional cleaning. Others may come off w/ bleaching, either w/ OTC like Crest strips or a tray made at the dental office.

However, SOMEtimes, stain and coloration and some minor cracks are just part of natural tooth color and anatomy - kinda like some people have freckles, some people have black skin, some people have curly hair.

Don%26#039;t beat yourself up looking at your teeth while leaning 3 inches from the mirror! NO ONE else sees them that close, except MAYBE the dentist!

Ask your friends and family, %26quot;Hey, anything look weird about my teeth?%26quot; They%26#039;ll probably say no.

if you STILL don%26#039;t like them, go to your dentist and discuss %26quot;veneers%26quot;. These are false fronts that are very thin, white pieces of porcelein or ceramic or acryllic that can be cemented over your natural teeth. you can have them any shape or shade you like. Most people in Hollywood and on TV have these, which is why they all look like cookie cutters! But if that makes you happy, good! Also, it will make your dentist happy as they cost at least $600-1000 EACH and you have to get anywhere from 4-10 depending on how many front teeth you want to cover.

Hope I%26#039;ve helped!
Reply:i really think you should see a dentist he should be more help and will give you perfect advice on how to take care of your teeth.
Reply:use a flouride rinse, listerine had a great over the couter flourinde rinse. It will strengthen your enamel. Try a over the counter whitening for the staining, it does good for extrinsic tooth staining (surface stain)
Reply:Good answer from drswansondds, but I would be worried about any doctor who cannot spell porcelain and acrylic correctly. Have your hygienist polish your teeth with a coarse paste at your next visit. And have your dentist check out the %26quot;cracks%26quot; in your teeth. I have the same thing and it is from grinding my teeth at night. A nightguard helps to prevent new cracks but will not get rid of the existing ones.
