My son is 11months old and he has four teeth I brush them twice a day with an infant and tooth cleaner but....

I noticed that he has yellow spots on his teeth almost as if I wasn%26#039;t cleaning them properly but I really do I clean them with a wash cloth and then with a toddler elmo tooth brush. I make sure to clean his gums and tounge. Is it normal for his teeth to have yellow stains. What can be causing this?

Good for you. You sound like a dedicated Mum.

It is very, very unlikely to be anything of concern. And that includes some of the helpful suggestions above like tetracyclines, side-effects of antibiotics, fluorosis. The worst suggestion is the idea of fluoride poisoning - absolute nonsense.

Take him along to the dentist when you have your next checkup, and have a fun day of it. A ride in the chair, a stamp on his hand, a sticker ... that sort of thing. It%26#039;s a good intro for him at this age, and your fears may be alleviated.
Reply:you may want to check with a dentist. Do you let him go to bed with a bottle each night (with milk or formula?) It could be signs of bottle rot.
Reply:i%26#039;ve looked around the internet and this question has been asked several times, once answered by a pro, here%26#039;s the answer,i hope this helps! (link to answer as source)
Reply:Has he been on antibiotics recently? If he has, there it is. Antibiotics attack the bad bacteria of an infection, but they also deplete certain good bacteria causing a lack of equilibruim that manifests as diarrhea, yellow stains on teeth, vaginal yeast infections etc.

I%26#039;ll check your details for your answer.
Reply:this has nothing to do with the brushing of the teeth. see a doctor, has the child been sick or had to take antibiotics?

You should ask your pediatrician.
Reply:may be missing some type of vitamin. Calcium perhaps
Reply:This is a very normal dental occurrences, this means he is receiving good calcium in his diet, which these are called calcium deposits, or wherever you live the water may have to much fluoride which is nothing to be alarmed over some babies react different to foods %26amp; much more don%26#039;t worry about this he will be losing those teeth anyway.
Reply:Looks like tetracycline staining.did u take them in ur last trimester?or r u takin any antibiotics now?lactating mothers should be careful about their diet and any medications.did ur kid go on any medications lately?some antibiotics cause these signs.dont be too harsh on the teeth.as i can not judge the condition completely i would advice u to see ur dentist soon..Dr.Vaibhav.
Reply:It sounds like FLOUROSIS. Do his teeth look like this?

FLOURIDE is a cancer-causing toxic waste and should be AVOIDED! Check your infant tooth cleaning formula to see if it contains flouride.
