At the most your gums might be a bit sore for a day or two. That should be about it.

I%26#039;m going to get deep cleaning on my teeth! Will I feel pain or soreness after the numbness wheres off?
What on earth is %26quot;deep cleaning%26quot; of the teeth?? Do you mean peridontics? If so, you are going to have a sore mouth.
Reply:what pain you will feel is probably not what you would expect because it will not be the gums themselves but the teeth. most likely, your gums are puffy and swollen- after this deep cleaning the swelling will go down because the cause of the inflammation has been removed. what will happen at this point is suddenly- cold drinks and foods will get to you where you didnt notice it before. i always suggest switching your toothpaste to a sensitive brand such as sensodyne . this sensitivity will pass and it isn%26#039;t excrutiating - it is just something you will notice.

you entire mouth will be so happy to be clean and so will you!
Reply:The buffer they use on your teeth kind of shakes your whole head, and your gums might be tender, but it%26#039;s worth it!
Reply:I had it done and I didn%26#039;t feel a thing during or after the numbness wore off. Its not as scarey as some people might tell you.
Reply:That%26#039;s called Deep scaling, Yes they should numb you up so you can%26#039;t feel anything, if it starts to wear off during the procedure, please let the Dr. know so he or she may give you more anesthetic. Good luck, it is ok. don%26#039;t worry...
